How highlights are found
The sound is measured and the cuts in the picture are counted. A clip scores high when it is louder than usual for this video, when the sound rises sharply (laughter, applause, emphasis in speech, the music kicking in) and when shots change. The algorithm does not understand words, so the choice is yours: tick the clips you want and adjust their edges on the timeline.
Clip edges do not cut a sentence
The start and end move by a second or two to the nearest cut or pause in the sound, so a clip does not begin mid-word. For more precision, drag an edge on the timeline: the video plays right in your browser while you do, nothing is uploaded for that.
One upload for every cut
The video is uploaded once. While it is kept you can cut it again: other lengths, another frame, other parts. The analysis does not count towards the daily limit; only the cuts do.
