Why convert
PDF — a document that looks the same on any device and prints as it is. To get the text out of a PDF to copy or process it. Works for PDFs with a text layer; scans have no text to extract this way.
What changes in the file
Images and formatting are dropped; columns and tables are laid out with spaces roughly as on the page.
Which settings to pick
Nothing to set: the content and formatting come from the file.
