Why convert
GIF — short silent animations limited to 256 colours. Such a file is many times heavier than a video of the same length. As MP4 it gets lighter and can be paused and scrubbed.
What changes in the file
Quality does not suffer. Transparent areas turn black: video has no transparency.
Which settings to pick
If the file has to fit a limit, set File size: the quality is chosen for you. For messengers choose Smaller file and 720p; for editing keep High and the original height.
